The Grand Angus - McDonalds' New Burger
September 7th 2009 11:07
I will admit to having a bit of a liking for the occaisional McDonalds burger - I have to have a monthly Big Mac to get my sauce hit and a friend from work recently introduced me to the McFeast Deluxe and I also find this one a bigger, more meal like, burger that I can guiltily enjoy with a pack of Maccas fries and a crappy post mix coke.
While I was away on holidays I started seeing ads for their new burgers, The Grand Angus and The Mighty Angus, and while with every Maccas ad they manage to suck you in to try something new that actually tastes like shit this burger looked awesome. Including the fact they were making these burgers from 100% A grade Angus beef I was hooked and I HAD TO HAVE ONE. Well done Maccas on another succesful campaign. BUT thankgod it hooked me - this burger is BLOODY SENSATIONAL and probably my new favourite burger, taking the title from the Big Mac - a burger I have loved since about 1975
The burger is a bit larger than most of their current ones and is on a fresher sourdough bun. The meat is thicker and OMG - it actually tastes like meat, it then has a decent salad of baby salad leaves, fresh tomato and spanish onion and a delightful sauce of a mustard, mayo combo.
I can't believe I am writing a review of a Maccas burger, but seriously, this is one of Maccas' greatest achievements.
To qualify for the program, the beef must come from an animal sired by an Angus bull and be out of either a straight-bred Angus cow or an Angus cross cow. It is independantly certified and for once the burgers don't appear shrunken. You also won't get post Maccas stomach pains as the preservatives eat through for stomach lining. This one is genuine and if you want to try a yummy burger then head into the corporate giant and eat this one!!

LOL but I guess all these advertising got me curious too - but we'll see how long they keep the freshness for. I remember the big mac used to look that big too!!!!
