Lindt Cafe in Sydney

April 3rd 2008 05:57
A must for all those chocoholics out there. If you are passionate about chocolates, especially the creamy, rich kinds all the way from Switzerland, you'll love the Lindt Cafe. They have two branches, one on Martin Place, the other at Cockle Bay of Darling Harbour.

Those who do have a sweet tooth will love the sweet thick chocolate based beverages available on the menu. From various kinds of hot chocolate to mocha, as well as ice blended summer drinks, there is no disappointing the customers. Cakes at the cafe are also described as 'divine' and the fine and smooth texture will only leave you salivating at the counter.

One thing though, is both the drinks and the cakes can be too rich for those not used to such tastes, and excessive consumption can be sickening.... The prices are on the high end of the market so it's also not a place for everyday hang out.

However, still a pleasant experience and much recommended for those with guests visiting Sydney.

I had a passionfruit white chocolate cake there and nearly passed out from ecstasy. Totally BLEW my mind. There is a chocolate and coffee tour you can do of Sydney. Costs about $60- and you go to about 5 or 6 places and get free samples and the like plus a coffee in Sydney's oldest coffee house in The Strand Arcade. The chocolates are to die for all over Sydney. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

whoop did i read LINDT?!

made me do a second look! hahaha

I guess wherever you are in the world, Lindt is a recognizable name as much as Coca Cola and Mcdonalds are. I definitely have NO Sweet tooth but hey I have one reserved for Lindt and lindt alone

I love the hazelnut icecream at this place. So smooth and full of flavour -- a must try for anyone that visits.

Jason - I'd die from chocolate overdose from that tour! And I know that coffee house you are talking about. It certainly is good. (I should write about it here one day)

Anonymous - yes you did

Hazel - Sure is a brand everyone knows and loves!

Shan - Dude, you guys have the best coffee houses and chocolatiers in Melbourne. What are you talking about?!? You have the legendary KoKo Black!!

Arnold - I am all for their ice creams I guess hazelnut is your favourite flavour too?

OOh - can I throw in my 2 cents. LOL
Max Brenner is delish and a friend of mine manages the Manly store but it's like Target compared to David Jones in regards to the chocolate stakes.

Hello,

Yum! This is a heavenly place. There's also a chocolate shop in WBJ that is to die for but I'm still a Haigh's gal.

I would put them on par Cib! But it's different. Max Brenner is a conceptual chocolate store where Lindt would be a more traditional chocolatier store that actually also sells their chocolates!

Jason - really? Can we get discounts?

Hi Miss Ty Rant - WBJ?

Would you say Max Brenner is more of the Starbucks of Chocolate stores? Coz that we have here, but I didn't really know they had a Lindt choco cafe. My team would do anything for me to bring them there hahah!

I love Max Brenner too not just for the chocolatey goodness (this coming from a non-sweet-lover) AND the good looking Bald guys. have a thing for bald (not the natural bald LoL!) guys hahah

The Lindt cafe is chocolate heaven for me. The hot chocolate is not as good as the drinking chocolate in Paris but the cakes and chocs are divine.

I recently had a milk hot chocolate at Max Brenner and it was awful. Making my ownn hot choc at home with Cadbury's drinking chocolate is a thousand times better. I'm turned of going to Max Brenner ever again...

Hazel - Bald guys eh?

Lidia - We can't compare what we have here in Europe - our milk and general diary products are not as good (although still tops compared to the rest of the world)

Funny this article popped up again in my inbox. I took my mum there this morning and we had Lindt Mocchas and I had a raspberry white choc friande kind of thing. YUM, and mum had a lime and ginger biscuit kind of thing. Amazing. Also got a massive block of 70% choc and orange.
YUMMY - I love that place!!!

To be honest I don't remember seeing any cold drinks but I wasn't looking. I knew I was having a mocha before i arrived. You need to be able to enjoy the melted Lindt. Oh my god - my stomach heard me. Must run and hide. NO - I have a block of lindt in fridge. It's all safe. LOL
I want a job there forever!!!

Hi Mocha. I do believe they have iced choclates/iced mochas/iced coffees and some variations on them. However, really, these days are really cold for cold drinks!

Jason - I must have been reading your mind You wouldn't want a job there coz you'll get sick of it and won't appreciate it anymore! (And having to deal with customers too!)
