Dear McDonald's - is this sufficient?

April 6th 2011 09:22
OK I admit - I do like me some Micky D's. It is like a monthly fix kind of thing. I used to live on their breakfast until I started looking like a Big Mac myself and now get a regular fix. I even reviewed the Grand Angus because I thought it was the best burger they had released since the Big Mac - a huge favourite since I was about 8yrs old.

Today I was excited to try yet another of the deluxe range. The Grand Crispy Chicken and I loved it. Their deluxe range is such a great idea and the burgers are actually closer to being burgers than the other crap they have been churning out. It has actual salad on them and they don't look like a divine burger on the poster and look like a pancake of crap on the table.

What my issue was were the fries - one of the best thing McDonald's has ever made. Constantly voted best chips in the world but let me know if I am wrong - does this look like i have been completely ripped off - do staff not see the crap they are putting in the paper bag before they hand it over. When I got back to my place of work and opened my brown paper picnic bag of Micky Ds I found utter disappointment - not only that but my bloody Diet Coke was completely flat. McDonald's Warringah Mall - GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER, this was a disgrace.

Am I mistaken or does the above picture look nothing like the below image??

Another thing I have noticed is that Big Macs are smaller than when I was a kid. I used to joke that it was just me getting bigger but when I Google "has the big mac gotten smaller" I get 2360000 responses. I have found multiple pages stating it has been proven they have shrunken the Big Mac for profits sake. I do know the Big Mac in the US is larger by 60gms so maybe we used to be the same and they changed it but I really think they used to be huge and you could see the meat all the way to the edge of the bun but now you have to open it to see the meat. NOT COOL MICKY D!

Not happy Jan - I want my fries to at least be over the half way part of my packet. Now that's off my chest I feel much better - but healthy food for another month Where was my Mi Goreng hahahaha

Always - always open bag before one leaves the store and sample the goodies. Also am partial to a bit of M's chips - but - I would yell - loudly - if box was near on empty. Agreed - the size has definitely shrink. They get the big boo for the week. K

OMG Jason I can't believe as a food critic you actually walked into Maccas!!!

No, none of their food look anything like their advertising. How good do the cheeseburgers look on TV and when you actually unwrap one, it looks like something that my younger sister would've made when she was 5!

Either their quality has decreased overtime, or that I am growing out of them.

If I must have fast food, I prefer Hungry Jacks. I rely on the one at Central Station when I work late

I'm with Amy - I prefer a Hungry Jacks burger over M's any day. And I too believe we grow out of cardboard food after a while - as it just doesn't satisfy the hunger - just wants you to have more and more and there is no filling in the food. Hence - in USA - big people with big bodies. K

It's ludicrous Ma - never been ripped off on the chips this much before but normally see them put them in the bag - I should check the bag when there before leaving the store.

LOL Amy - I know shame on me - but this same critic, me , also was the first to review the Maccas Burger Grand Angus on the Sydney Table.

For work lunches, when I do not have left overs, or the motivation to make stuff, there is the food courts of my work. Every meal has to be different and I am actually about to write an article on work lunches, but with all the variety eventually I want a Maccas meal - the one place I loathe and avoid is KFC - it is basically Oil in the disguise of chicken.

I do like the Hungry Jacks Whopper - and they make the BEST frozen drinks - love them as a treat occasionally. Plus for crap junk food - you can't beat the "Stunner Meal" for affordability.

The reason why you want more and more of the junk food is the heavy handed amount of preservatives and white carbs in them. It doesn't satisfy and burns quickly making you hungry not long after.

We only grow out of things if we allow ourselves to grow up

What is that saying:

We can't stay young forver but we can stay immature forever

Works for me

The US just get bigger because Maccas is cheaper and twice the size. You will notice now Maccas is not allowed to upsell you the products to a larger size - this is from that move SUPERSIZE ME - where the guy ate Maccas for months and nearly died.
